Nestled into a hillside above 9500' in Colorado, this luxury custom home was positioned to frame unobstructed views of the surrounding peaks. The natural grade was leveraged for a full walk-out basement that brought the mountain landscape into the lowest level of the home as naturally as the top floor — the topography worked with, not around. Douglas fir and Alaskan yellow cedar timbers carry the structure, while western red cedar and western hemlock bring warmth and texture to exposed ceilings, tongue and groove accent walls, and exterior siding — each species chosen for its character and the way it ages in a high-altitude environment.

Kansas limestone runs throughout the interior, grounding the home with warmth and weight, while European white oak floors tie the palette together. Every material earned its place — chosen not for convenience but for how it would look, feel, and perform decades from now. Every detail executed to the standard the setting demanded and the view deserved
